Winemaking
The grapes are harvested late in the season when the vine leaves have turned a golden colour, hence the wine's name. The grapes are selected, fermented with their skins for about two weeks, and carefully aged in oak barrels to bestow this excellent wine with its unique characteristics, by taking the edge off the grape's acidity and creating the wine's velvety taste.
Aroma
Appearance: bright ruby red colour with purple reflections. Aroma: the nose is reminiscent of ripened cherries and wild berries. Flavour: velvet to the palate, with a lingering aftertaste, pleasantly etched on the memory.
Tasting
Excellent with red meats and mature cheeses. Best stored in a cool dry place out of the direct sunlight. Can be left to age for 5-6 years, the ruby colour darkening over time.
